Pablo Picasso (25101881 – 8041973, Spanish) is said (from what I heard) to be one of the greatest artist ever lived. His paintings were sold for millions of Euros, and his name is a legend. But what I recognize the most is his full name:

Pablo (El Pablito) Diego José Santiago Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno Crispín Crispiniano de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz Blasco y Picasso López.

It’s no real aliens. What I meant by aliens up there are Alienware, notebook PC manufacturer that specializes in gaming. The PC was launched January 8, 2010.

Review: Avatar

I thought that this avatar was nickelodeon’s avatar. And, when I heard that James Cameron directed this film, I didn’t care–I didn’t know the name. But then I heard that this man,a decade ago, brought us the legendary movie Titanic, I jumped from my bed and called my friends to go to the theatre.

This time, James Cameron and crew brings you a story of a giant humans called the Na’vi, living in Pandora. The name of the planet may remind you the lethal Pandora box. In this planet, there are loads of mineral that can sell for a lot of notes. But, human must face the natives to take it away.

The film Avatar shows you how good James Cameron can do with CG (Computer Graphics). Almost 99% of the environment in the film is generated with 3D generator. And, what is more, the effects, such as: when the Na’vis walk on the ground, the ground gives a good reaction of something steps on it. The special effect too, is world class: you don’t want to miss the airplane exploded when the battle begins. Every detail of the characters were very well done in American style. For the special effects and cinematography, I’d give them five stars out of five.

But then, you must admit that the film doesn’t apply a very good plot. With such outshining display on the 3Ds, it’s a freefall on the storyline. The plot can easily be predicted. three is not too low. However, the screenplay is quite remarkable. But with some lack of good mimics, I’d give 3.5 stars.

With an overall of 4 stars, I recommend you watch this movie soon as possible.

Drawing a string into your XNA game

Adding a string into your GUI in XNA might be very critical to display information of something. Despite using customized font (using image as font), you can draw some string using this syntax:

public void DrawString (
        SpriteFont spriteFont, 
        StringBuilder text, 
        Vector2 position, 
        Color color)

where:

spriteBatch : the sprite you use to draw
spriteFont : sprite font you use as the font for the string (must be created and added to your project and loaded before use)
text : string you want to display
position : the starting position of your string (x = the X-axis, y = the Y-axis)
color : your desired color

Double Buffering in CLI programming

Flickering is a lot of trouble when you are running an application. And the only solution to the problem is using a double buffer for the layout.

add a class of this code, inheriting the properties of Panel.
Change all panel classes you use in your code with this doubleBufferedPanel . Remember this: the the namespace of this class should be the same as the namespace you use in your main form.
